Big Data. Yes, this really does stand for a large collection of data. Big Data refers to extensive and voluminous data sets – both structured and unstructured – that are difficult to examine but can provide companies with valuable market and consumer insights if analyzed assiduously.
Bounce rate. The percentage of people who visit your website but leave after viewing a single page. You attracted them to the website but were unable to convert them.
Buyer persona. A depiction of your ideal consumer including their interests, wants, and needs. It’s a detailed look into the mind and shopping habits of a potential consumer. With 3 tier logic’s purchase receipt validation module, you can get an in-depth look into the buyer persona of your new and existing consumers, track all the purchases they are making in retail stores and online, identify purchase behavior, and establish purchase frequency.
eTailing. Short for electronic retailing, eTailing is less of a buzzword and more of a shopper marketing term that has been around for a while and is now finding its way back into popular discourse.
Lead nurturing. Building and maintaining relationships with consumers at every stage of the funnel, by listening to and meeting their needs, providing useful information, and building trust as they go through the process of potentially becoming a customer.
Return on investment (ROI). Simply put, ROI is a metric used to measure profitability. ROI seeks to uncover what value, if any, you receive for the money you spend.
Snackable Content. Bite-sized pieces of information or content that can be consumed and understood by an audience quickly. Like a snack, it should have that exceptional ability to satisfy your audience and make them hungry for more.
Storyscaping. Designing worlds for your customers so that you become a part of their stories and are able to create personal connections with them. This marketing buzzword even has its own catchphrase or dare we say, “buzzphrase?”: “Stop creating ads, start creating worlds.” Welcome to the spectacular world of Marketing.
TOFU. Ah, TOFU! The king of meat substitutes and as is used in marketing, the top of the funnel. The top of the funnel is the largest segment because it is where you try to attract the attention of as many people as possible, through articles, videos, newsletter subscriptions or any non-specific content that appeals to the general audience. At the MOFU (middle of the funnel), you can offer more specific content like use cases relevant to a certain group of people as they move through the sales process, and at the BOFU (bottom of the funnel), you can offer solutions targeted at certain individuals. For instance, the BOFU is where you can offer a consumer a free trial or demo of your product or service.
Track Busters. The people who clean up your online presence. Because your consumers don’t need to see that video of you losing all your morals during Spring Break ’05.
