Background

To drive sales and brand equity, 3 tier logic worked with its client to launch the Pride and Joy Medal Mania Sweepstakes, with Pride representing Canada, and Joy representing Mondelez brands, encouraging Mondelez customers to celebrate with Canada during the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. Every time Team Canada wins a medal, the collected entries are drawn and those who have participated in the sweepstakes gain a chance to win a prize in celebration of Canada’s growing medal tally.

Strategy

To meet the client’s objective of driving sales and brand equity, 3 tier logic used PLATFORM³ to configure a microsite for the Pride and Joy Medal Mania Sweepstakes. The microsite hosted various PLATFORM³ modules including Contests & Promotions, Purchase Receipt Validation, Shopper Messaging, and Data Capture & Analytics.

Consumers were made aware of the promotion with the use of pallet displays in stores, radio advertisements, and social media advertisements, thus influencing their purchase decisions and incentivizing them to participate.

Under the promotion, consumers who registered for an account on the microsite received one sweepstakes entry for a chance to win the Grand Prize, a trip to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, as well as secondary prizes. Consumers were also encouraged to purchase participating Mondelez products (such as: Ritz, Oreo, or Cadbury products) and submit their receipts on the microsite to receive additional entries and increase their chance of winning. After making a qualifying purchase, and snapping and texting in a photo of their receipt, consumers were instantly entered into the sweepstakes for a chance to win a prize.

PLATFORM³’s Optical character recognition receipt scanning license provided the client with a way to engage consumers on their mobile device and gain shopper knowledge from receipt uploads. PLATFORM³’s Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning capabilities also provided the client with a means to monetize the consumer data.
