Background 

To drive sales of ice cream treats during the summer season, 3 tier logic created a text-to-win sweepstakes for its client where consumers where asked to purchase any Good Humor or Unilever brand ice cream treats at 7-11 to be entered to win valuable prizes.

Strategy

To meet the client’s objective of driving initial sales and repeat purchases of Good Humor and Unilever products, 3 tier logic used PLATFORM³ to configure an SMS/MMS Campaign. The Promotion leveraged PLATFORM³ modules including Contests & Promotions, Purchase Receipt Validation, SMS/MMS Shopper Messaging, and Data Capture & Analytics.

Under the promotion, consumers who purchased qualifying products submitted an image of their receipt via MMS message and upon validation, receive one entry into the sweepstakes for a chance to win a collection of prizes including MLB tickets and theme park tickets.

Using on-pack signage for in-store activation, consumers were made aware of the promotion at retailers, thus influencing their purchase decisions. PLATFORM³’s Optical character recognition receipt scanning license provided the client with a way to engage consumers on their mobile device and gain shopper knowledge from receipt uploads.
