Lysol: $5 Digital Gift Card

Reckitt Benckiser is a multinational consumer goods company and manufacturer of health, nutrition, and hygiene products. Some of their brands include Lysol, Air Wick, Clearasil, Enfamil, and Mucinex. Reckitt Benckiser launched a program during the back to school season to help promote sales of Lysol sanitizer products. They partnered with Walmart, Target and Kroger retailers and 3 tier logic to launch a gift with purchase program in the USA. Participants who purchased eligible Lysol sanitizer products from Walmart, Target or Kroger retailers were rewarded with a $5 digital gift card to the retailer they purchased from. This was the third program Reckitt Benckiser activated with 3 tier logic in 2022 and the fourth overall.

Strategy

3 tier logic used PLATFORM³ to create a skinny microsite for Lysol’s gift with purchase promotion, leveraging the following modules:

  • Contests and Promotions

  • Purchase Receipt Validation

  • Gift Cards & Rewards

  • Data Capture & Analytics

When consumers purchase a participating Lysol product from participating Walmart, Target or Kroger locations in the USA, they were eligible to receive a $5 Walmart, Target or Kroger reward. Through the Purchase Receipt Validation technology on PLATFORM³, customers can validate their purchase by registering and uploading a picture of their receipt to the promotion microsite. Once their purchase has been validated, customers receive an email with their $5 digital gift card and instructions on how to redeem it. Consumers were limited to one reward per email address.

With PLATFORM³, Lysol was able to collect valuable data about their consumers’ purchasing behavior throughout the duration of the promotion. The Data Capture & Analytics module provides actionable insights into users’ activity on the microsite. Lysol is able to use this data to make strategic decisions and create future marketing promotions for continued sales, ROI, and customer engagement.
