Bush Brothers & Company, or Bush’s Beans, is an American food processing company known for its Bush’s Best canned baked beans and other bean-related products, sold in retailers like Save Mart and Walgreens. Bush’s Beans believes they have the best chili in the market. To show how confident they are, Pinckney Hugo Group, Bush’s agency partner, partnered with 3 tier logic to launch a Chili Rebate program for Bush’s Chili Beans products, where if a consumer is not satisfied with the product, they will receive a rebate in return. This was Bush’s Beans’ second program in partnership with 3 tier logic.

Strategy

3 tier logic used PLATFORM³ to create a skinny microsite for Bush’s Beans Chili Rebate program, leveraging the following modules:

  • Contests and Promotions

  • SMS Shortcode Phone Number

  • Purchase Receipt Validation

  • Data Capture & Analytics

When consumers purchase one or more qualifying Bush’s Chili Beans products at participating retailers in Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, New York, and Pennsylvania, and are dissatisfied with their product, they are eligible to receive a physical rebate coupon.

Consumers must first text the keyword ‘CHILI’ to the shortcode 47056 in order to receive an SMS message with a link to the promotion microsite. If a consumer is not satisfied with their chili purchase, then through the Purchase Receipt Validation technology on PLATFORM³, customers can then validate their purchase on the microsite by registering and uploading a picture of their receipt. Consumers were eligible to receive up to three rebates each. Once their purchase(s) have been validated, customers receive their physical rebate coupons at the end of the promotion via mail. 3 tier logic took care of the procurement and fulfillment of the rebate coupons for Bush’s Beans during this promotion.

Through 3 tier logic’s shopper marketing software, PLATFORM³, Bush’s Beans was able to collect valuable data during the course of the promotion to get insights into their consumers’ shopping behavior. The Data Capture & Analytics module provides information on consumers’ activity on the microsite. Bush’s Beans can use this data to make informed business decisions for increasing brand engagement and driving customer loyalty.
