A leading American multinational consumer goods company whose brands offer products like household cleaning supplies, toiletries, and skincare products faced a need for increased sales and consumer first-party data. They partnered with 3 tier logic to launch a national gift with purchase program, exclusive to participating brand products and Costco members in Canada. The client preferred not to disclose their identity.

Strategy

3 tier logic used PLATFORM³ to create a microsite for the client’s gift with purchase promotion, leveraging the following modules:

  • Contests and Promotions

  • Purchase Receipt Validation

  • Data Capture & Analytics

When consumers purchase $100 of qualifying products in one or multiple transactions from Costco, either in-store or online, they are eligible to receive a $25 Costco Shop physical gift card. Through the Purchase Receipt Validation technology on PLATFORM³, which validates receipts in both English and French, customers can validate their purchase by registering and uploading a picture of their receipt(s) to the promotion microsite. They could also complete a form and send their receipts by mail instead. Once their purchase(s) have been validated, customers receive their $25 Costco gift card by mail. Consumers were limited to two rewards per Costco member. 3 tier logic also provided the legal administration for this promotion.

With PLATFORM³, the client was able to collect meaningful information about their consumers’ purchasing behavior for the duration of the promotion. The Data Capture & Analytics module provides valuable insights into users’ activity on the microsite. They are able to use this data to make informed business decisions and develop future promotions for continuing to drive sales, ROI, and customer loyalty.
