Mondelez International, Inc. is an American multinational confectionery, food, beverage, and snack food company whose brands include Oreo, Ritz, Triscuit, Cadbury, and Trident. Mondelez Canada partnered with 3 tier logic to launch their national ‘Pride & Joy Medal Mania Sweepstakes’ promotion, exclusive to consumers in Canada and participating Mondelez products.

Strategy

3 tier logic used PLATFORM³ to create a microsite for Mondelez’s ‘Pride & Joy Medal Mania Sweepstakes’ promotion, leveraging the following modules:

  • Contests and Promotions

  • Purchase Receipt Validation

  • Data Capture & Analytics

When consumers register on the promotion microsite (no purchase necessary), they are eligible to receive a sweepstakes entry for a chance to win a grand prize of a trip for two to the 2020 Winter Olympics, including admission to three Olympic events, spending money, and travel and hotel accommodations. They were also eligible to win 1 of 36 premium secondary prizes, consisting of a Panasonic LED TV, Samsung Galaxy tablet, and sponsor coupons, or 1 of 768 standard secondary prizes, consisting of Team Canada mittens and toques, as well as sponsor coupons.

Consumers were also encouraged to purchase qualifying Mondelez products to earn additional sweepstakes entries. Through the Purchase Receipt Validation technology on PLATFORM³, customers can validate their purchase by registering and uploading a picture of their receipt to the promotion microsite. Once their purchase has been validated, consumers receive an email confirming their additional sweepstakes entry. They were also given a no purchase entry (AMOE) option in which they were to email an original artwork of their favorite winter sport instead. Consumers were limited to fifteen entries per account per submission date. 3 tier logic generated a random draw to select the sweepstakes winners while Mondelez procured and fulfilled the prizes.
